I gave these 4 stars instead 5 because the product description says these have a foam base. That’s not accurate, they have filled the padding with loads of tiny foam balls - which means that you’ll either love it or hate it. But, I dock stars when products aren’t accurate described. Photo 2 shows an arrow saying it’s a foam base, it isn’t. It’s a pocket with foam balls filled inside it. However, some people will love this- as it means it moulds to the shape of your legs better when sitting on a couch. Others will hate it, as it makes a little bit of noise when you move & also makes it less stable (slightly slightly) if you put it on a coffee table (to lean forward and work off the coffee table) vs a proper full foam base. It might sound like splitting hairs, but if you regularly work off the sofa/ couch for reasons (eg a damaged leg), then accuracy matters in decision making. So, it’s pretty good, I like the wrist pad area - comfy but not too hard - but docked stars for accuracy in description. The top is nice and easy to clean, also smooth to the touch (I have tried a wooden one before and found it a bit ‘gritty’ at times.

This really cool laptop desk from Vivo Technologies is just like a portable workstation that you can use anywhere. So, if you're tired of hunching over your laptop in bed or on the couch, this is the thing to use! I really like that it's got a big, flat surface where I can put my laptop, and it has a little slot for my mobile phone. There's also a built-in mouse pad, so I don’t need to find a separate one. The best part has to be the cushion, which makes it comfortable to use for long periods, although you may find - as I did - that the desk does tilt down a bit when it’s resting on your knees and there isn’t a way of adjusting that other than finding something to put your feet on first. The laptop desk is really lightweight and can be carried around. It's perfect for taking from room to room although I’m not entirely convinced it’s worth carrying about outdoors, I know I won’t be doing that. Using it while lounging around the house is far more this desk’s MO, and it felt comfortable for that purpose.

Good space, can fit full sized laptops on it. Comfortable. Fits a single beds width perfectly. Has wrist cushion, mouse pad area and a slot to wedge a handset into, or remote control. Reminds me of the dinner lap trays with the bean bag underneath except this is bigger. Has a nice pattern.

A very useful lap desk, not just for laptops, but can be used for eating too. The lap desk has 2 very soft cushions that run parallel at either end of the desk. The outer material is nice and soft, velvety like and the insides of the cushion contains bean-bag material, probably polystyrene. You'd soon get so used to this that you'll wonder how you managed without one. The mouse pad has smooth velvet surface, perfect for using your mouse, whilst there is a slot for your mobile. It will cater for most mobiles, including ones in ruggedised cases, but not for the foldable ones as their either too thick, or when unfolded, the slot isn't wide enough. It's also got a nice wrist-rest, again with a nice velvety touch to it and not too thick or chunky like most rests so as to not be a hindrance but more of a support, which it does very well. As for width, it's generous. I have a 17" wide laptop which fits perfectly, leaving ample room around the sides.

PROS -a good size, it easily holds my laptop and mouse (or coffee cup, if I’m careful) -mousepad works well with laser & LED mice (though I use a big trackpad) -lightweight -pads underneath are comfortable CONS -there is no wood in the construction of this desk (despite the title of this listing) NOTES -I’m not sure why the pads underneath are in two “bars”, it would have been better if the entire underneath had padding. MY STAR RATINGS: 1* substandard, mostly cons 2** barely acceptable, cons outweigh the pros 3*** meets the basic requirements, cons balance the pros 4**** good product, pros outweigh the cons 5***** exceptional, all (or almost all) pros
