I bought this to go along with my new MSI Raider 17", which is a "k laptop. I wanted to both tilt the laptop, but also cool it down and increase its life. This does do both quite well, but with a couple of caveats. 1) The claim of a 44c temp drop is BS. The best i've ever seen is around 15C 2) It looks and feels cheap AF, and about as portable as a 10tonne truck So lets first talk about the good. It really does give a significant drop in temperature! Usually around 20c when sitting idle. However gaming or anything intensive the temp drop seems to be around 10-12c, o0ccassionally peaking to 15c. Which is pretty good imo. For my machine it means i can see a idle temp drop from low 50's to mid 30's. While working it can run from the late 50's to early 60's, and with this on it drops to late 40's Gaming however is not so great. Under light games, then sure you going to have similar reults to the above. However if you're playing a heavy load game such as CoD, SE5, LotR: SoW and others, your only going to see about a 10-15c drop. For example i was seeing 65-73 without this, but with it i was able to get it down to around 50c-60c. All the while this was on 500-800rpm, with fairly quite fan. In fact it was no louder than my laptops fans. However anything over 1000rpm's just leads to diminishing returns to the point i dont really see it being worth the severely increased noise. For maybe 1 or 2c drops. The other thing i dont really like is the foam, which is loose. In other pads of this type they're magnetic which keeps them in place. I also worry over how long the foam is going last, especially since it dosent seem like you can buy replacements. The lack of portability is another problem for me, but i think for most people they're going to have it in a single place so it wont be an issue. Overall though it's well worth the investment

When I think solely about the problem I face each day beating the heck out of my laptop while developing 3D games, I cannot fault this cooler on anything. Yes, it's not portable because it requires AC power. Yes, it's noisy. Yes, it's bigger and heavier than others. But that's all necessary to do the job of keeping a high-powered laptop nice and cool under heavy load. You can't get the power required from a USB port, and you can't move that much air without making some noise—at least not at this price point. So, if you're not doing extreme things with an extreme laptop, then this cooler may not be for you! If you're still reading, then it does have a few extra features to consider. One that I like is that the speed control and display are right under your nose as you work. As your workload and laptop temperature fluctuate, you can easily adjust the fan—it's always just right there, so easy to do! Another feature that I love is the filter. Nothing ruins laptop cooling like clogged fans! The fact that your laptop makes a tight seal to this unit means it now receives only clean, filtered air, which will keep it nice and clean—and cool! The adjustable legs are great! The extra USB ports are fantastic. The mouse pad that I got with this model (which was a surprise to me!) is really good—it fits right across my desk, under the laptop and mouse, giving it all a clean look! For me, there are only a couple of negatives. The biggest one is those swing arms at the bottom to hold the laptop in place. If I use them, they do dig into my wrists. As someone who does a lot of typing, this is not good. Luckily, the laptop seems to stay in place perfectly for me without using them—so I'm good. Secondly—and this is nit-picking, but I predict the foam will wear out under the weight of my wrists over time—and I don't see any replacement foam available. But those are just minor gripes and I won't take any points off for them. So in summary, if you're working with demanding software, this cooler is an essential investment that will keep your laptop cool and running fast, and likely extend its life! (Let me just quickly add—for those who don't know, when a laptop, or any device for that matter, gets warm, it has to slow itself down to prevent damage (thermal throttling). So you lose performance when your laptop gets warm. Keeping it cool keeps it at full speed!) If you're not using demanding software, then this may be overkill. But I will say, even if you're not working your laptop hard, using this cooler on low speed will give you the benefit of the filtered air, which is still a BIG plus and it doesn't make much noise on low. 10/10, would recommend! (This review is for the white version that doesn't have the neon, but comes with a mouse pad, and is quite a bit cheaper. Plus, I got it with a sweet little $30 coupon! 👌)

First things first, this thing works. It actually cools your laptop, unlike most other laptop coolers that just blow air at your laptop, this pushes air through your laptop. While it does provide significant cooling performance of 5 to 10 degrees, this comes at a significant cost. That cost being, this thing is LOUD. Even at the lower speeds, that do still provide significant cooling, it is louder than most laptops fans at full speed. The other thing to keep in mind is this requires vent holes on the underside of your laptop. It will not work on your macbook air. There needs to be a path for this to push air into your laptop and pass through the heatsinks. While this one does work, the sacrifices made in terms of user comfort when it comes to noise is a cost/benefit analysis you will need to make for yourself.

Used this during the summer. Cooled down my laptop considerably. It's quite loud on full speed so i only turn on full speed for a few minutes until my laptop cools down. Then half speed to keep it cool the rest of the time. Good product to have.
